Raymond J. Hlinak, age 80, of 325 Dakota Court, Mishicot died unexpectedly Thursday, July 9, 2015, at his residence. Ray was born July 30, 1934, to the late Joseph and Emma Stangel Hlinak and has been a lifelong Tisch Mills and Mishicot area resident. He was a graduate of the Mishicot High School, graduating with the class of 1952. Ray married the former Joyce Neumann June 25, 1955, at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Two Rivers. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard. Ray was a self employed Mason for several years and later worked for the William A. Hein Construction Co. of De Pere for 33 years, where he served as a foreman for the company. He was a member of St. Isidore the Farmer Catholic Church in Tisch Mills and was a member of the Holy Name Men's Society, where he sang and played his trumpet in the Men's Choir. He was also a member of the Bricklayer's and Allied Craftsman Union Local # 11. Ray enjoyed playing cards, especially sheephead and watching the Green Bay Packers. He also enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music.
He is survived by his wife: Joyce, one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Larry Servais, of Two Rivers; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark Hlinak, of Two Rivers; Brian and Susan Hlinak, of Manitowoc; Carl and Brenda Hlinak, of Mishicot; 4 grandsons, Morgan Hlinak, Collin Hlinak, Derek Hlinak, Dustin Hlinak, 2 step-grandsons, Gregor (Andrea) Cox, Patrick (Alexis) Cox, 3 step-great-grandchildren, Lorelai, Olyvia, and Dalton, one sister, Mabel Marsicek, of Manitowoc, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jerome and Linda Neumann, of Manitowoc; JoAnn and Peter Bushmaker, of De Pere; and is further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant son, Roger; a brother, Norbert (Lorraine) Hlinak; and a brother-in-law, Vernon Marsicek.
Private family services were held at the Lambert-Eckert Funeral Home in Mishicot. Monsignor John Dewane officiated at the service, and burial took place in the St. Isidore the Farmer Parish Cemetery in Tisch Mills.
