George Bigelow died at his home near Silvara, PA Nov 3, 1940 age He was 78 years. George was a native of Wyoming. He died of dropsy and heart trouble. He was mason by trade. He served in the Spanish American War for 6 months in 1898. He was in Company C. 9th PA. Vol. Infantry. He is survived by wife of his second marriage (Mary Ann Woodruff), three daughters who are all married: Minnie Bond of Springville, Arleta Crosby of Wyoming and Mildred Hawley of Wyalusing. 1 brother Charles Bigelow of Wyalusing also survives. Services were held from the letters home He was buried beside his first wife Carol Hardic Bigelow in Wyoming, PA.
Historians note: He died in the same house that Charles Bradley died in in March 1924 according to Leo Bolles diary in Silvara, PA
