Iner Lee Crowder Jr., 76, of Muskogee died peacefully at his home early Thursday morning, July 9, 2015. He was born on September 20, 1938 to Iner L. Crowder, Sr. and Pearl Beth in Muskogee. He was raised by his grandmother Myrtle Crowder and Ernest Melson. Iner spent his whole life as a manager in the Service Department of City Chevrolet and later with James Hodge Ford. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards and working on his crossword puzzles in ink up until just the last few weeks of his life. He was a huge NASCAR fan and spent many Friday nights at the Thunderbird Speedway as an inspector and later on, building, working on and watching his sons and grandsons race modifieds, spring cars, four wheelers and motorcycles. His garage was always full of family, friends, race cars and laughter along with his wonderful smile and wave as you saw him. Iner is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Dorethia Kay Crowder; his father, Iner, who died before he was born; and his mother and grandmother. A funeral service celebrating the life of Iner Lee Crowder, Jr. will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chandler Christian Chapel with Reverend Conrad Barrett officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park with Iner’s grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers.
