Beauford Leon Dix, 67, died at 12;48 AM Sunday, April 30, 2000, in Lafayette Home Hospital. He had been a patient there five days and in failing health nine weeks. Born Jan. 1, 1933, at Kokomo, he had lived in Lafayette 43 years. He was married to Phyllis M. Bridwell on Aug. 18, 1957, in Lafayette, and she survives. Mr. Dix worked for Lafayette School Corp. for 27 years as a custodian, retiring in 1993.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Roberta (husband Robin) Roudebush of Lafayette; a son, Robert L. Dix of Lafayette; four sisters, Wilma Taylor, Gladys Rusk, Teresa Strickland and Dorothy Wilson, all of Kokomo; and a brother, Herbert (wife Marie) Dix of Middlesburg, FL.
