Ephraim Avery. was baptized on Oct 18,1685 at the First Church of Stonington, a son of Thomas Avery and Hannah Minor Avery. He was a mariner, and sailed in the sloop "Sea Flower". The sloop arrived from Saltudus on Apr 17,1719 with smallpox aboard. An entry in Hempstead's Diary, p.88, dated Saturday May 9,1719 reveals that Ephraim Avery was buried on Powder Island, and that he had died of smallpox.
