OREL WILLIS GRIMM, born 3 Sep 1901, died 4 December 1997, married 28 Dec 1927 to NELLIE FLORENCE SWINEY, born 28 April 1905, died 21 May 1994, daughter of JOHN HERBERT SWINEY (1884-1973) and HANNA M. (RAMSEY) SWINEY (1888-1945). Orel and Florence attended Glenville StateTeachers College, Glenville, WV, and graduated in 1928. Orel taught school in Holly Springs, Newville, Gillespie, and Hyer. Orel and Florence taught school together at Palmer; Florence taught school in Clendenin, and her final year at Hyer in 1929. Orel went to work in 1929 for the Veteran’s Administration in Charleston , WV. Florence attended business college in Charleston in 1930. In 1935, Orel was transferred to Huntington, WV. , and in 1939 to Reno, Nevada as Finance Officer. In 1941 he was transferred to Little Rock, Arkansas, and in 1945 to Montgomery, Alabama. Orel retired from the Veteran’s Administration in 1970.

His original name was ORAL, but was changed in teenage years to OREL. Apparently he liked the name Orel because of a baseball player named OREL.
