York, ME - Mary A. Carmody, 66, died Saturday, July 4, 2015 at home with her family by her side. She was born July 15, 1948, in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter of the late Richard and Virginia (Davis) Hayes. She worked as a business office manager for various Home Health Care agencies in Portsmouth, NH. She was involved in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts for many years and was active with the York High School Boosters. She enjoyed cooking, baking , cross-stitch and for making Cheesecake. She was known as Momma C to the kids in town.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, James P. Carmody; a son, Sean P. Carmody and a daughter, Marykate Carmody both of Portsmouth, NH; her step-father, James "Sonny" Kehoe; 3 step-sisters, Moira, Patricia, and Barbara Kehoe.
Calling hours will be held on Wed., July 8 from 4-7pm in the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, ME. A funeral Mass will be held on Thurs., July 9 at 10am in St. Christopher's Church, 4 Barrell Ln., York, ME. Burial will take place in Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Springvale, ME.
