Sue King, 63, of Scottsbluff, died Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at her home. Her memorial service was May 22 at Grace Chapel in Scottsbluff with Pastor Zen Voorhies officiating.

Sue was born June 9, 1951 in Sioux Falls, S.D. to Robert and Arline Bannick. She lived in Inwood, Iowa until she was 14 and then moved to Denver, Colo. She graduated from Englewood High School in 1969 and earned her Nursing degree from Metropolitan State College in Denver.

She married Benjamin P. King on Sept. 10, 1977. In 1984, Sue and Ben moved to the family farm southwest of Morrill. Sue worked for Regional West Medical Center and spent 10 years as a nurse with Prairie Haven Hospice. Sue was an active member of the community. She spent her time with several local groups such as the Morrill Literary Club, Serenity Garden Club, the Panhandle Humane Society, the Cattlewomen’s Association and Grace Chapel Church. She was also the co-founder of the Oregon Trail Days Nebraska CASI State Championship Chili Cook-Off. She always loved to help others and will be missed by her many friends and family.

Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Ben.
