Octavia Mitchum Wright went to be with her God on August 25, 2009. Born February 14, 1912, she was a daughter of the late John C. and Hilda Watts Mitchum of Eutawville, SC. Tavia, as most people knew her, worked at the Department of Social Services, Child Support Division, for over 20 years. She retired for 19 years and then returned to work with DSS on a part time basis until she was 91 years young, at which time she retired permanently.
Octavia was a member and Sunday School teacher at Park Street Baptist Church for over 70 years of her great life. She always said she loved nothing better than teaching her young children at Park Street.
