Sherri Kaye (Baker) Howell, 54, returned to her heavenly home on July 6, 2015, after a very short and valiant battle with an illness. Her devotion to her family and her belief in God carried her throughout her life.

Sherri was born to Cecil Paul and Anna Louise (Powell) Baker, on March 24, 1961, and was raised in Owensburg, IN. She graduated from Eastern High School and devoted 26 years working at Crane Naval Base, where she met some of the best friends she ever had. Most recently she worked with the GS5 Contractor. She attended the Linton First Christian Church and was a member of the American Legion Post #106 Ladies Auxiliary of Worthington.

Sherri was blessed with a large and loving family. She married the love of her life, Tom Howell, on June 19, 1993, at their home in Worthington, IN. Sherri raised her only child, Courtney, with patience, kindness, and as much love as a mother could possibly give. Courtney has two beautiful children, Jaxon and Sydnie, who “Nanna” adored and loved with all of her heart. She was very proud of her sweet grandbabies. Sherri loved spending time with her family and friends and taking vacations with loved ones. She was able to take one last trip to Destin with her loves, in early June. She said that getting to see the excitement on Jaxon and Sydnie's faces was worth a million!!! Sherri made those around her feel like a million too!

Sherri is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator and celebrating with family members that have gone before her, especially her grandparents Rupert & Martha Swango and Frank & Ruby Baker. Our beautiful "Sher" is survived by a large and loving family, who deeply miss her loving smile and infectious laugh, including: her husband, Tom; daughter, Courtney; parents, Paul and Anna Baker; precious grandbabies, Jaxon and Sydnie; sisters and brothers-in-law Paula and Donnie James and Cindy Baker and Richard Parks; nieces and nephews, Dawn and Curt Sullivan, Jason and Dara James, and Derek Baker, great-nieces and nephews Rylan and Kenli Sullivan and Jake and Jobey James, aunts and uncles Kay, Carol and Larry, Jewell, Ethel and Red, many sweet cousins, dear family friends Matt Latimer and Kirk Williams, and many, many special friends that she met along the way.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 11th, 2015 at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel with Archie Ellett officiating. Sherri will be laid to rest in the Worthington Cemetery in Worthington, IN. (Published in the Green County Daily World July 2015)
