Saturday, 28 January 1922---GADSDEN EVENING JOURNAL: C.G. Bailey, one of the best known men in the city, died at his home on Reynolds Street, this morning at 11 o'clock after a long illness of diabetes. He had been confined to his room only a short while, and his passing was a great shock to his friends and acquaintances. The funeral will be held at the residence at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, and the burial will follow at Forrest cemetery. The deceased was 66 years old and he is survived by his widow and three daughters, Misses Bernice and Ann Bailey and Mrs. L.G. Thomas, of Farrell. Mr. Bailey moved his family here in 1907, and ever since then he had been a salesman in the store of the Herzberg-Loveman Dry Goods company and was one of its most popular employees. He was honorable in all of his dealings and was rated as being trustworthy in every respect. Obituary provided by J.A. # 47484808
