WOLCOTT — Mr. Shawn Patrick Dunn, 60, of 47 Averyll Ave., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, in the presence of his loving wife, after a short courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Carol Jean Cmiel.
Shawn Patrick was born in Falls Village on Feb. 19, 1955, son of the late Paul and Margaret (Staples) Dunn. He graduated from Eustis High School with the class of 1973 in Eustis, Fla. He moved back to Connecticut in 1975 and lived in Waterbury until moving to Wolcott in 1995.
He was a self-employed skilled carpenter for most of his life, and was currently employed at the Republican-American as a maintenance worker. He had a great sense of humor, many friends, and enjoyed watching old classic movies.
Besides his wife, Carol, of ten years, he leaves his mother-in-law, Jean Billian and her husband, Leonard, of Wolcott; a brother, Bryan Dunn of Bonney Lake, Washington State; several beloved cousins, including Jennifer Silva and Fred Staples; and his beloved dog, Jenna.
Arrangements: A funeral service with his cremains present will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery, Wolcott. Calling hour will be held on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
