Virgil was born in Safford, Ariz., to Bert and Myrtle Hatch on Nov. 18, 1922. He married Genita Clarke, March 12, 1942 and later they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona LDS Temple.
Virgil was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he loved to serve. He was a successful farmer and land owner in his young adulthood in Mesa, Ariz. In 1966 he moved his family to Vernal where he owned and operated a farm on the Green River. Later he built two mobile home parks, one of which is still operating (Esquire Estates.)
While in Vernal, Virgil made many life-long friends. He then had the opportunity to build and operate another mobile home park in Castle Dale. He most recently resided in Star Valley where he moved in 1980. There he built and managed an R.V. park, until becoming ill in 1997.
Virgil is survived by his wife, Genita, Star Valley; daughters, Lynell (Gene) Anfinson, Peggy (Danny) Moore, both of Vernal; Janet (Gary) Homan, Cornwall, N.Y.; Sheila (Mike) Noakes, Sacramenta, Calif.; sons, Phil Hatch and Gary (Julie) Hatch, Star Valley.
Virgil's greatest love was his family and hard work. He loved working side-by side with his wife throughout their 56 years of marriage. He enjoyed people and knew how to make them laugh and feel good. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family.
The funeral was held in Payson, Arizona on Jan. 17 with the interment later held in Mesa, Ariz.
