Eva woods, 89 of Mexico, died Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Kings Daughters Home where she had resided since Sept., 2012.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Mexico with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation is Monday from 12 noon until the service.

Eva was born in Wellsville, MO on Sept. 29, 1925, the youngest child of James C. and Nancy (Paden) Crouch. She was a 1943 graduate of Wellsville High School and on Sept. 11, 1948 she married William “Bill” Woods in Wellsville.

She was employed at A.P. Green Refractories during the 40’s as a switchboard operator and worked at Audrain Medical Center in patient accounts from 1972 – 1990 when she retired. Eva was very active in her community. She was involved in PTA, Band Parents, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church where she volunteered in various activities including substituting as church secretary after her retirement. She was an Elder and Deacon. She belonged to Presbyterian Women and Kings Daughters Circle and delivered Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her four children, Bill Woods of Mexico, Nancy Woods Nagel and Mark of Washington, MO, Ken Woods of Palm Springs, CA and Mike Woods and Anne of St. Charles, MO. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Virginia Crouch of Wellsville and four grandchildren; Josef Nagel and wife Danielle, Kurt Nagel, Lydia Nagel, and Ben Woods and one great-granddaughter Adeline.

In addition to her husband Bill and her parents, she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters; Marvin Crouch, Raymond Crouch, Martha Rhinehardt, Mary Crouch, Charlie Crouch, Walter Crouch, Ruth Sims, and William Crouch.

Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or the Kings Daughters Home in care of Arnold Funeral Home.
