Rose Ann Reed, 73, of 168 Shamrock Road, Paxinos, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015.
I've heard it said that you are born alone and you die alone. In the case of Rose Ann (Mowery) Reed, a daughter of Robert and Rose (Korzenaskie) Mowery, this could not be more wrong. As her life concluded, she was surrounded by an extended family that could not fit in the room.
Donald Reed, of Paxinos, her husband of 55 years, held her hand and sat by her side. Her daughter, Sharon Youn, of Danville, her caretaker for the last two years, was by her side as she was for everything Rose Ann went through, the true showing of a daughter's love.
Her son, Donald, of Glen Mills, was with her while his wife Debbie, who helped and supported Rose Ann through it all, sent positive thoughts. Keith, her youngest son, of Phoenixville, and his wife Kelly were with her as well.
Her son--in--law, Jake, stood by her side with her two granddaughters, Marah and Hunter. Her brother, Robert Mowery, and sister--in--law, Nora, along with sisters--in--law, Nancy Konjura and Betty Jane Martin, with their husbands, Andy and Keith, were with her also.
Her numerous nieces and nephews and their children as well stood firm showing their love and bond to their wife, mother, mom-mom, sister, and aunt.
Known as one of the "Greyhound Girls," with her best friend and constant companion, Kathleen Madara, of Shamokin, she was surrounded by the same love that she gave to other her entire life.
In a world where you get what you give, Rose Ann got exactly that: an unconditional love to those who knew her. Missed — yes, Forgotten —- never. Loved —- always.
Funeral services were held in the Farrow Funeral Home, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Shamokin, with the Rev. David Wildoner presiding. Burial was in the Northumberland Memorial Park.
