Mary Anne Reading peacefully passed away on January 14, 2015 with her loving family at her side. She was born Mary Anne Gleeson on December 27, 1917 to William and Agnes Gleeson in Chicago, Illinois. Mary was the youngest of six children. After the death of her mother when she was six years old, she was sent to live with her Aunt Anne and Uncle George Meyer in Green Bay, Wisconsin. On July 31, 1945, she married the love of her life, Robert Francis Reading. They were together until his death on October 2, 1993. They had six children who are left to cherish her memory: Robert (Marianne) Reading, Peoria, Illinois; Jim (Diana) Reading, Dunlap, Illinois; Bill (Sarah) Reading, Dallas, Texas; John (Anne) Reading, Plano, Texas; Rosemary (John) Garner, West River, Maryland; and Kathleen (James) Renfrow, Terrell, Texas. Also to cherish her memory are twelve grandchildren and step-grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren and great-step-grandchildren as well as her friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church. The most precious and important things to Mary were her faith, family, and friends. Mary was a devout catholic and her faith guided her in being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker, teacher, and loyal friend. Mary was proud of graduating from Stevens Point Teachers College with a degree in Home Economics. She was raised to love the Green Bay Packers and followed the team all her life. In later years she also became a staunch Dallas Stars fan. Mary will be missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of her life will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Richardson, Texas on Wednesday, January 21. The Rosary will be recited at 9:45 a.m. and the celebration of the mass will begin at 10:30 a.m.
