Roger Dale Atkinson, 65, of Big Spring, died Thursday, July 9, 2015 in a Midland hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, July 13, 2015 at Mt Olive Memorial Park in Big Spring.
Roger was born August 23, 1949 in Big Spring and married Mary Ellen Hedges, August 12, 1970 in Big Spring.
He was a contractor and builder and had served in the United States Army.
He retired from the City of Big Spring as a firefighter in 1999 after 29 years of service.
Roger enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Roger is survived by his wife, Mary Atkinson of Big Spring; daughter, Ginger Denise Keeton and husband, Steve of Queensland, Australia; son, Gregory Dale Atkinson and wife, Saw of Gilbert, Arizona; grandchildren, Braden Dale Atkinson and Caleb Roger Atkinson, of Austin, Brianna Atkinson of Gilbert, Arizona and Donovan Barber of Big Spring.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Verlene Atkinson, and one sister, Teresa Barber.
