William Treptow, 68, Farmer and Feeder, Passes Suddenly

Heart Ailment Causes Death of Ord Man on October 24

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon from the Methodist church for William Frederick Treptow, who died at Ord on October 24, 1952, aged 68 years. Rev. Keith A. Shepherd, the pastor, conducted the service. Interment was made in the Graceland city cemetery with the Hastings-Pearson mortuary in charge of the arrangements.

William F. Treptow, son of Marie and Herman Treptow, was born near Clay Center, Nebr., in clay county on May 24, 1884 and passed away at the Ord hospital on October 24, 1952, at the age of 68 years and 5 months after a short illness of 10 days.

Mr. Treptow came to Valley county with his parents when two years of age. As a boy he attended school at District 55 in Valley county.

He was married to Etta Mae Hemmett on November 11, 1905. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Ruth Haught of Curtis, Nebr.

He farmed in Garfield county a number of years. In 1924 he went into partnership with C.J. Mortensen as farmer and cattle feeder. He continued this partnership until the spring of 1952.

On April 18, 1945 he was married to Mrs. Bessie Achen.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; his first wife, Etta Mae; two sisters, Rose and Louise.

He is survived by his wife Bessie; one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Haught of Curtis, Nebr.; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Miller, Mrs. Bertha Brown and Mrs. L. A. Butterfield all of Burwell, Nebr.; two brothers, Albert of Comstock and Carl of Sargent, Nebr.; five step-children, Beth Martin of Lubbock, Tex.; Loretta Mae of Amarillo, Tex.; Joyce Goff of Puerto Rico; Patty and Dean at home; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also a host of other relatives and friends.
