Karen I. Sweet, 73, of Delano, died Thursday morning at home.
Born in West Mahanoy Township, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Dorothy Bankes Hinks.
She had been employed by Reggio Fashions factory.
Karen was a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Delano.
She is survived by her husband, Silas; daughters, Karen Ann Long, Debbie Botham, Jessica Vogel and Dana Sweet; a son, Silas Sweet Jr.; sisters, Georgeine Goldman and Elizabeth Koch; grandchildren, Joshua Walther, Jennifer Goodman, Bonnie Savakinas, Cassandra Lutjen, Samantha Botham, Morgan Sweet, Melanie Rose Valentin, Jayden, Corrinne and Sebastian Vogel; seven great-grandchildren; two aunts, June Meade and Eileen Van Lanen; nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend graveside services at the German Protestant Cemetery, Mahanoy Township, officiated by the Rev. Janet L. Kline.
