He was the owner of Art's Apco, Hays, for 30 years and was an Army veteran. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council No. 1325, Bishop Cunningham Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and the Hays Chamber of Commerce, all of Hays.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph.
Survivors include his wife, Norma of the home; a son, Arthur Jr. of Hays; a daughter, Sheri Enfield of Hays; a brother, Albert Jr. of Hays; two sisters, Velma Mahoney of Stockton and Gladys Green of Pueblo, Colo.; and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays, with military rites by the American Legion. The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus will stand honor guard at 7 p.m. Monday, and a vigil will be at 7:30 p.m., followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary, all at Hays Memorial Chapel, Hays.
Memorials may be made to the church. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today, 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Hays Memorial Chapel, 20th and Pine, Hays, 67601.
