Death of Dr. Van Norman

The Casper Derrick, in speaking of the sudden death of Dr. Van Norman, says:

Dr. C. R. Van Norman died yesterday at the Wentworth, from the effects of an overdose of morphine. It is believed that sickness and disappointment had so far depressed his mind that he no longer cared to live.

The doctor was a kind-hearted, amiable companion, and was well liked by all who knew him. The feeling of sorrow at his untimely death is sincere and deep. Both Drs. Leeper and Garner did all in their power to restore the unfortunate man, but he was too far gone before his condition was known.
