1780 – 1802 - pastor of Bultail Baptist Church, later referred to as Bull Tail (now Wells’ Chapel Bap. Ch., Harrells, Sampson / Duplin Co., NC).

1802 – ca. 1814 – pastor in Bladen Co., NC

ca. 1810-1814 – left for Mississippi Territory. Built 2-story house in Monticello, MS. Pastor in Bogue Chitto,

He wrote many hymns.
