William Rader was born about 1770 in East Pennsboro, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania He died in 1802 in Wythe County, Virginia

The marriage of William and Christina Alvery is recorded in the "Annals of Southwest Virginia 1769 - 1800" by Lewis Preston Summers.

An inventory of the estate of William Rader was taken on February 1, 1802 in Wythe County, Virginia and was settled on September 21, 1805. The Will of his father dated May 18, 1812 indicated that William was deceased and had left the following children: Samuel Rader, Mary Rader and Susan Rader. A footnote in the 1800 Wythe county tax list indicated that William had died in 1802 and that his widow had remarried to Absalom Fickle.

An inventory for the Estate of William Rader (1 Feb 1801) was recorded 13 July 1802 (Wythe Co p. 216). Settlement was 21 SEP 1805 (recorded Oct 1805 (p 331) Among the items owened by William Rader were 9 hogs, a horse and mare, 7 cows, 2 yearling heiffers, a "yew" and a lamb, horse gears, cutting "nife" and steel, 17 geese, a "bar Share and Shovel plough" feather beds and furniture, a chest, a wheel and cotten cards, a spinning wheel, 3 small bags, a man's saddle, 3 pots, an oven and a skillet, a dresser and furniture, tinware, a bottle and a "pale" work tools, an ax, a mattock, a hoe, wooden ware, a grindstone, broom, slays and harness.

The following is from "The lost Children of Wythe County, Virginia 1790-1878 by Mary B. Kegley 1985 10 Apr 1805 John Rader guardian of Samuel, Anne and Susanna Rader children of Wm. Rader deceased. John Rader was a taylor in the town of Evansham [Wytheville] 15 Nov 1809 John Rader guardian of Samuel Rader and Anne Rader, orphans of William Rader deceased. Samuel was to be bound out to Christopher Oury to be a tailor and Anne Rader to Christopher Brown, son of Christopher. 12 Apr 1815, Susannah orphan of William Rader, deceased, chose John Repass her guardian, and Anne her sister, chose Christopher Brown, as they were "upwards of age 14"
