Faye Ballance Foster, 57, of Hatteras died on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. Born in Memphis, TN, she was the daughter of the late Lester Bascom Ballance and Emilia Ann O’Buch Ballance. Faye began battling Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 1999. She never gave up on God, and by His grace she beat Hodgkin’s lymphoma, but would succumb to Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Faye loved life, her community, her family and left an impact on everyone she met.

Faye is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 35 years, Desmond “Buddy” Roderic Foster, Jr.; a daughter, Krystal Foster of Hatteras; a son, Marshall Foster and wife, Ashleigh of Hatteras; and a brother, Victor Ballance.

A funeral service will be held at Hatteras United Methodist Church on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 2:00pm with the Rev. Ken Davenport officiating. Burial will take place at the Foster family cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hatteras United Methodist Church, PO Box 310, Hatteras, NC 27943 or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
