Mr. John “Johnny” Wayne Summey, age 67, a resident Ellen Ave. passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 at his residence.

He was born June 29, 1948 in Davidson County to Marvin Summey and Emma Hoyle Summey. He married Carolyn Elizabeth Sneed on December 17, 1966. He was a cloth cutter for many years and retired from Clyde Pearson Furniture. Mr. Summey was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Thomasville.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Marvetta Daniels and Barbara Summey.

Surviving are his wife Carolyn Sneed Summey of the home; one daughter Angela Renee Shelton of Thomasville; two grandchildren Wayne Shelton and Sarah Elizabeth Shelton both of Thomasville.

A service will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the J.C. Green and Sons Chapel in Thomasville. Burial will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville.
