Sandy Lee Martin was born to the union of Esau Eli Martin, Sr. and Willa Terlean (Radford) Martin on March 6, 1939 in Holden, West Virginia.

He was a star athlete at East High School in Columbus, Ohio from which he graduated in 1958. He attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana and later The Ohio State University.

For a number, of years Sandy worked for the Ohio Youth Commission. Later he became a licensed electrician and operated LOBO Electric.

Sandy was a proud member of Second Community Church.

Preceded in death by his parents, Esau Sr. and Willa Martin; infant daughter, Sanda Lee Martin; brother Esau E. Martin, Jr.; his sisters Lucille (Martin) Rispress, Frances (Martin) Simmons, Alice Martin and Jacqueline (Martin) Smith.

Sandy is survived by his wife of 53 years, Earlene "Costella" Martin; daughter, Judge Angela T. Martin; his son, Earle C. Martin (Alexis); his three grandchildren, Ayanna M. Cooper, James L. Cooper, III, Elijah Sandy Martin; brother, Charles E. Martin; sisters, Vera (Martin) Bowser, Marcia (Martin) Smoot; devoted friend, Preston Harrison; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
