RIDGEWAY, Missouri - Harold Dean Huitt, 87, Ridgeway, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at a nursing home in Bethany, Missouri.
He was born September 17, 1927 in Blythedale, Missouri, the son of Elmer and Ruth Kate (Gilbert) Huitt.
On December 26, 1946, he married Dorothy Irene Johnston in Atchison, Kansas. She survives of the home.
Harold served in the US Navy during WWII. He also served his community as a beloved minister and pastored the Blythedale Christian Church, Martinsville Christian Church and Ridgeway Christian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carlyle "Shortie" and Bob Huitt; sister, Nina Pontius and son-in-law, Garry Eivins.
Survivors in addition to his wife of sixty-seven years are his children, Donna Eivins and Barbara Spencer, Des Moines, Iowa; David Huitt, Florissant, Missouri; Samuel Huitt, Calumus, Iowa; Rhonda Pierce, Kansas City, Missouri; Gilbert Joe Huitt, Billings, Missouri; Martha "Marty" Huitt, Kansas City; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; sister, Vera J Baker, Savannah, Missouri; [and] sister-in-law, Vera M Baker, Des Moines.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, November 20 at Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, Missouri. Burial in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm at the funeral home where friends may call after 4 pm Wednesday.
