He was born July 22, 1882 in Castroville, the son of Domingo Rios and Lutacia Montalvo Rios. He married Maria Felan February 20, 1908, in Bandera, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include four sons and five daughters; Sylvistre Rios of Johnson City, Henry Rios of San Angelo, Minnie, Mrs. Clisio Valdez of San Antonio; Andera, Mrs. Rudy Perez of Stonewall; Martha, Mrs. Emelio Perez of Sterling City; Domingo Rios of Big Springs; Mrs. Rafealita Sauseda of Louisiana; Catherina, Mrs. Pedro Valdez of Cleburne; and Leon Rios of San Antonio.
Rios is also survived by two brothers and one sister; Domingo Rios, Julian Rios, and Clemencia, Mrs. Pedro Trevino, all of San Antonio, 73 grandchildren and 98 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Tevucio Rios and Joe Rios, preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were Tiofilo Cantu, Avel Cantu, Linandro Cantu, Vicente Cantu, Pedro Cantu, and Pancho Cantu.
