She was born August 16, 1925 in Mystic, CT, the only child of the late Wilfred Leonard and Olive May Bethel Rollinson. She was married to the late William John Adamson on March 19, 1949 in Mystic. They lived and raised 3 sons in this area.
In 1995, she moved to Nashville, TN, living in the Bellevue community for several years and later moving to Sycamores Terrace Retirement Community. She is a member of Charlotte Road Baptist Church where she was a faithful and active member as long as her health allowed.
She graduated from Robert E. Fitch High School, Groton, CT on June, 19, 1943. After her children were grown, she took courses in history and writing. She won awards for some of her short stories and poems and had several published locally.
She loved music and was an accomplished cornet player in her high school band and other community bands and a member of the choir at Union Baptist Church, Mystic and other community choirs throughout her school years and into adulthood.
She liked to travel and experience new places and people. She went to great efforts to stay in touch, by letters, cards and phone calls, with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 10 at 1 PM at Harpeth Hills Funeral Home, Hwy. 100, Nashville, TN with visitation an hour prior to time of service. A graveside service and burial will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic, CT on Monday, July 13 at 3 PM.
