Laurie was born in San Carlos, California, Jan.26,1957.
After graduating from Azusa Pacific University, she taught P.E. in school, and had a variety of positions with California Department of Forestry. It was through this work that she met her husband, Robert Lee. When he got a position in Helitack at the Alma Station, they moved to Scotts Valley, where they settled and had three children.
Laurie worked as a teacher for Baymont Christian School for many years,and became very involved with the church and Christian community. On Dec. 18, she succumbed to pancreatic cancer, which she had bravely fought for five years.
She is survived by her children Kristen, Jake and Jenna, son-in-law Joey, sister Kathy, and father Roger, as well as other family and many friends. A memorial of her life will be held at her home church of Twin Lakes, on Sat. Jan. 14, at 11:00 A.M..
In lieu of flowers, a fund will be set up for the children to memorialize their mother.
