Roy Junius Olsen, 90, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2015. He was born on November 11, 1924 in Weston, Idaho to Lew and Nora Hansen Olsen. He attended and graduated from Weston High School. After school he enlisted in the Army Air Corps where he became an officer and pilot during WWII. Roy graduated from SAC in 1949. He met and married Faye Carter on June 29, 1949 in the Logan LDS Temple. They had two children, Lori and Kelly.



Roy served a mission to Australia and later served three service missions. Roy worked for the Salt Lake Newspapers as a graphic designer and writer for many years until he retired. He authored a historical novel titled "A Bridge Clear Across."



He is survived by his children Lori Olsen, of Salt Lake City, Kelly (Samantha) Olsen, of West Valley City, UT; five grandchildren Christopher, Danielle, Cody, Robert, and Victoria, and three great grandchildren Drako, Natallia, and Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Faye.



Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston. A visitation will take place from 10:00-10:45 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Preston Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.webbmortuary.com
