Roy served a mission to Australia and later served three service missions. Roy worked for the Salt Lake Newspapers as a graphic designer and writer for many years until he retired. He authored a historical novel titled "A Bridge Clear Across."
He is survived by his children Lori Olsen, of Salt Lake City, Kelly (Samantha) Olsen, of West Valley City, UT; five grandchildren Christopher, Danielle, Cody, Robert, and Victoria, and three great grandchildren Drako, Natallia, and Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Faye.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Webb Funeral Home, 1005 South 800 East in Preston. A visitation will take place from 10:00-10:45 a.m. also at the funeral home.
