DOVER - Linda Yates Lapinski went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born on April 23, 1947, in Nassawadox, Va., to Harold and Edna Perry. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold; son, Earl O. Wood; late husband, James Yates; sister, Margaret Crocket; and brother, Orlando Perry. Linda was a caring, and kind-hearted person. She had a friendly way about her, and was great with people. She was employed as a hairdresser in Dover for 41 years. She enjoyed playing cards, going to bingo and the casino, and spending time with friends. She was a wonderful cook and baker, and made everyone feel at home. In 2005, Linda met Tom through a mutual acquaintance, and they became instant friends. They married shortly after and were blessed with 11 years together. She was also an active member of the Elks Ladies Auxiliary, and the Moose Lodge for many years. Linda leaves behind her loving husband, Thomas; parents, Edna and Donald Williams; sister, Peggy Kesler; children, Donald Wood and his wife Kim, Norman Wood and his wife Penny; step-children, James Yates, Yvonne Weber, Michele Lapinski, Patricia Piascik, Julie Baugher, and Tracey Lapinski; grandchildren, James Wood and his wife Kira, Donald Wood and his wife Cindi, Whitney Coker and her husband Lonnie, and Lindsey Wood; step-grandchildren Cody Goldsborough, Samuel Piascik, Andrew Fielding, and Patrick Lapinski; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Madisyn, Colton, Kaidence, Jaelyn, Jase, Jaxon, Milayna, and Baby Coker on the way. A viewing will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 West Camden Wyoming Ave. Wyoming, DE 19934. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Pippin Funeral Home. Burial will follow services at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
