Asa's birth date is around 1867. He was 3 in the 1870 US Federal Census for Floyd County, Virginia. His birthdate was April 1867 in the 1900 US Federal Census for Garrett, Douglas County, Illinois and in the Illinois County Marriages 1800-1940 his birth was listed as abt 1868.
From the Bellingham Herald, Tuesday, 13 Oct 1931 pg12:
Asa Arrington, aged 62 years, Woburn street, passed away at a local hospital this morning, Monday, October 12, after a few weeks' illness. Surviving relatives are one son, Gilbert E. Arrington, residing in Illinois; two sisters Mrs. Charles H. Mathews, Topeka, Kan., and Miss Lizzie Arrington, Chicago, Ill., and several cousins, of whom Matt Turner resides at Sumas, Wash. Mr. Arrington was a member of the Presbyterian church and had resided in Bellingham for the past thirty years. The body rests at the Homer Mark Mortuary, at Cornwall avenue and Halleck streets, and funeral announcements will be made later.
