KINSTON | Patricia Pasour Burns, 83, died peacefully at The Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, N.C. on July 4, 2015, after a bout with cancer. Born on September 27, 1931, in Dallas, N.C., she was the daughter of Earl Deaton and Mattie Lucille Edwards Pasour, and stepdaughter of Marie M. Pasour. She moved to Kinston, N.C. in 1953, after graduating from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She was employed at DuPont where she met ""Harkie"" her husband. She has been a faithful member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church since 1955; serving on the Altar Guild and teaching Sunday school for many of those years. She had a deep, spiritual belief in our Lord Jesus Christ. She joyfully shared her story of being born again in 1970 and how this experience profoundly changed her life and all of her relationships. Patricia continued to profess her faith and love for the Lord until her last breath. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Harcourt Reasoner Burns Jr., in 2005, and her twin sister, Barbara Pasour Johnson, in 1999. Patricia is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Allison Burns Geist and John Geist, of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren Jennifer Geist Salzman and husband Clint, of Charlotte, Adam Geist and wife Mendi, of Nashville; and great-grandchildren, Finley and John Geist; son Harcourt Reasoner Burns III and son-in-law, Michael Cover, of Washington, D.C.; son and daughter-in-law David Grier Burns and Debbie, of Boston, MA; grandchildren Ethan and Liam; son and daughter-in-law Chandler Sheward Burns and Lynne, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; grandchildren Whitaker, Jackson and Camryn; son and daughter-in-law Christopher Pasour Burns and Lori, of Woodstock, GA.; grandchild Olivia; niece, Lisa DiConsiglio of Arlington, VA; nephew Shepherd Johnson, of Gum Spring, VA; and brother, Charles Pasour of Dallas, N.C. Her loving companion, Aubrey Bronstein of Kinston, N.C., also survives Patricia. A special thank you to Patricia's caregivers, Mauricia and Skip Wade, and Lou and Sam Jones for their loving devotion in the past year. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday July 10, 2015, at St. Mary's Episcopal Church 800 Rountree Street, Kinston, NC 28501. A reception following the funeral will be held at Moseley Hall in St. Mary's Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Patricia's name to St. Mary's Episcopal Church in 800 Rountree Street, Kinston, NC 28501 or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Ct, Goldsboro, NC.
