Donald Wayne Bontz, the son of William Jacob and Georgia Alberta (Meford) Bontz, was born in Center, Missouri on August 4, 1938 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on July 18, 2005, at the age of 66 years.
Don grew up in Center, Missouri and then entered the U.S. Air Force where he completed his education. Don served in the Air Force for six years. Upon leaving the Air Force he returned to Shelton, Nebraska where he owned and operated an auto body shop. After a time Don and his family moved to California, where he served six years as the City Transportation Manager for the City of Buena Park, California. Don returned to Minden, Nebraska in 1991, where he began FBO Classic Aero. In 2002, Don moved his family and business to Aurora.
Don's passion was flying, from the time he entered the Air Force to the years he was a flight instructor in California and continued when he moved to Nebraska. Don also was a charter pilot.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Those who remain to cherish his wife Deb of Aurora; two sons, Jeff (Teresa) Bontz of Aurora and Ronald W. Bontz of Edwardsville, Illinois; two daughters, Veronica Sue Madison of S. Roxana, Illinois and Kathleen Bontz of Hannibal, Missouri; 7 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Don is also survived by a brother, David Bontz of Minden and a sister, Betty (Albert) Grisham of Minden.
