Betty ‘Bebe' Louise Edwards Clift-Tait of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on July 2, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on June 26, 1927 to Frank and Pauline Rush Edwards in Tahoka, Texas. Bebe was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother. Bebe's family moved to Houston, Texas, where she attended Lamar High School, but later graduated from Pasadena High School. Bebe met and married James 'Jim' William Clift in 1949, in Houston, Texas, where they raised their four daughters in Maplewood South; Paula King, Jamie Lorch, Joanne Bobal and Mollie Striednig. She served her community and provided leadership to her four daughters, in the San Jacinto Girl Scout Council, as a troop leader and neighborhood coordinator. Their mutual love of Texas A&M University led the the family to spend many weekends at Kyle Field, in College Station. Bebe continued to support their beloved Aggies with her gifts of scholarships and support, even after Jim's passing in 1994. Bebe had a vision for change in 1971. She and Jim made a bold move to Richmond, Texas, to start a successful Hereford ranching endeavor. Together they grew JBarB Farms from one to two ranches, adding a beautiful Hereford operation in Schulenberg, Texas. She was known to many as a superb and accomplished rancher. Bebe lost her dear husband Jim in 1994. After a number of years, in the autumn of her life, she found love again with the late John “Jack” Sandham Tait, Jr., of Houston, Texas. They married in 2008 and shared their golden years happily together until his death in 2014. Bebe is remembered as a fun loving, adventuresome, and gracious Texas lady. She enjoyed spending time with her large family, pursuing her many passions - such as playing bridge with her close circle of dear lady friends. Bebe is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Pauline Edwards, her adored brother Gene Frank Edwards, her loving frst husband of 45 years, Jim Clift and her beloved Jack Tait. She is survived by a large and loving family. The family wishes to thank devoted caregivers, skilled physicians and Houston Hospice for their expert care of our Bebe. For those who desire, donations may be made to American Heart Association, Houston Hospice or the charity of your choosing. The family will receive visitors on: Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapels and Cemeteries, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd. Rosenberg, Texas 77471. (Note: Trafc can be heavy) Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 2 pm, a celebration of Bebe's life and graveside service will also be held at Davis-Greenlawn.
