On Monday, June 6, 1992; the life that we knew, on this earth, of Mrs. Ruby Lee Violet Kennedy, expired.
She was born to Amanda Bush, May 7, 1916 in Madison County. She was raised by her late father and loving step-mother: Mr. Lawrence Jenkins and Mrs. Dicey Jenkins. She confessed hope in Christ and joined the Flatwoods Baptist Church, Garrard County, under the pastorage of the late P.O. Baughman.
She was united in marriage to the late Mr. Sim Kennedy. Of that union three children were born. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mrs. Betty Jean Russell.
She leaves to mourn her passing: one son, Elder Isaiah Kennedy; pastor of the Gethsemane Baptist Church, Lexington, Ky; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Hunt, Lexington, Ky; one daughter in law, Mrs. Barbara Kennedy, Lexington, KY; two sons in law, Rev. Hosea Hunt, pastor of the Flatwoods Baptist Church in Garrard County, and Mr. Robert Russell of Nicholasville, Ky; one sister, Mrs. Lawrencetta Kavanaugh, Richmond, Ky; one brother, Mr. Edward Jenkins, Georgetown, Ky; five sisters in law: Mrs. Annie Bell Spaulding, Lexington, Ky, Mrs. Katherine Greene, Louisville, Ky, Mrs. Bernice Kennedy, Danville, KY, Mrs. Jeanette Jenkins, Georgetown, Ky, Mrs. Sarah Kennedy, Winchester, Ky; one brother in law, Mr. G.B. Kavanaugh, Richmond, Ky; 20 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; seven granddaughters in law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
