A mass of Christian burial for Patricia Arteaga, 79, of Tyler is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler with Father Anthony McLaughlin officiating. Ms. Royce passed away on December 27, 2010, in Tyler. Burial is at Tyler Memorial Park.

Patricia was born on March 17, 1931 in Edinburg, Texas to the late Juan and Cipriana Arteaga. She was raised in Edinburg, and graduated from Edinburg High School. She married the late John Royce on June 12, 1965. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and was involved in the Altar Society, Ladies Auxiliary, Guadalupanos, and was a Eucharistic minister for her church. She and her husband owned and operated Royce's Meat Market for years. They were both a large part of helping with the community of North Tyler as part of their personal ministry. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Royce, her son, John William Royce I, and brothers, Juan and Serapio Arteaga, and a sister, Elisa Gonzales. She is survived by her children, John William Royce and his wife Tracie of Chandler, Michael Joseph Royce and his wife Christine of Liberty City, Diana Lynn Mandujano, Mary Alice Tijerina and her husband Lupe of Tyler, and Elizabeth Ann Montoya and her husband Carlos of Georgia, along with her brothers Augustine, Anselmo, and Martin Arteaga, and sisters, Ernestine, San Juana, and Estella Perez, and Epifania Ramirez and Angela Martinez, and 21 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her sons and grandsons.

A rosary will be held at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at Lloyd James Funeral Home.

She will be loved and greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
