He married Era Maxine Kennedy on April 18, 1949 in Albany. He later married Charlene Scrivner Mosier. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a certified dental technician and a member of the First Baptist Church of Mullin.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Hodges of Mullin; son Michael Hodges and wife Jill of Comanche; daughter, Sherryl Fulton and husband Ken of Weatherford; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister, June Roberts of Goldthwaite.
