Mrs. Wagner was a co-owner and bookkeeper for Wagner Sawmill for 37 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria and its Altar Rosary Society and Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She was nominated one of the first mothers of the year by the Putnam County Sentinel. She enjoyed being with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include six sons, James (Judy) Wagner of Holgate, Tom (Linda) Wagner of New Bavaria, Mike (Eileen) Wagner of Leipsic, Steve (Janet) Wagner of Leipsic, Jeff (Karen) Wagner of Miller City and Marty (Sandy) Wagner of Leipsic; four daughters Bonnie (John) Fortman of Glandorf, Nancy (Paul) Schroeder of New Bavaria, Kathy (Ron) Niese of Miller City and Mary Ann (Denny) Stechschulte of Glandorf; a daughter-in-law, Jane (James) Riepenhoff of Miller City; 38 grandchildren; a step-grandchild; 50 great-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; three brothers, Carl (Margaret) Maag, Kenny (Alma Jean) Maag and Harold Maag, all of Leipsic.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and Norman Wagner, a daughter-in-law, Chris Mershman Wagner; three grandchildren, Chad Schroeder, Joshua Wagner, Jason Wagner, two brothers Bill and Paul Maag; and a sister Alice Niese.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria. Fr. Stephen Stanbery will officiate.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
