Travis Henderson, 69, of Stanford, KY passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at home. Born September 11, 1945 in Norfleet, KY to the late Amel and Freda Clark Henderson, he was a member of the United States Marine Corp Honor Guard and was stationed at the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C. He worked as a Shelter Insurance agent for many years before retiring and was a member of McKinney Baptist Church. He loved his family dearly, was loved by many friends, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.


Survivors include his wife of 46 years; Connie Henderson, two sons; Darren Henderson (Lori), and Mark Henderson (Janilyn), one brother; Jimmy Henderson (Wanda) all of Stanford, KY, six grandchildren; Keira Henderson of Richmond, KY, Kelsey Wilson (Johnathon), Levi Henderson, Riley Henderson, Gage Henderson, and Raegan Henderson all of Stanford, KY, one great-grandchild; Adelaide Wilson, one brother-in-law; Lowell Coffman (Wanda), one sister-in-law; Betty Eaves (Kenneth) both of Lexington, KY, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother; Garald Henderson and three sisters; Judy Johnson, Treva Hill Henderson, and Karen Terry.


Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2015 from 5-9pm at Grace Fellowship Church in Stanford, KY. Funeral service will be 11:30 am Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the church with Reverend Vola Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY with military honors being presented by Caswell Saufley Post #18. Casket bearers will be: Darren, Mark, Jimmy, Jamie, and Levi Henderson, Wayne and Ray Terry, and Jimmy Johnson. Honorary bearers will be his nieces and nephews.


Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the American Heart Association (7272 Greenville Ave. Dallas, TX 75231).
