Beatrice Newby Hall, 92, passed away at the home of her daughter on Friday, July 3, 2015 surrounded by her loving and caring family.

She was born March 6, 1923 in Paterson, New Jersey to the late Richard Newby and Sarah Pellington Newby.

For many years she was a homemaker raising her family and afterwards she was the church secretary at St. Philips Episcopal Church in Durham. After the death of her husband, Frank James Hall, November 3, 2002, she came to be near her daughter Mary Ann, and lived for the last nine years at Robinwood in Wendell where she had many friends.

Funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 7th, 2015 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, NC 27545 with The Rev. Dr. John Kenneth Gibson of Grace Episcopal Church officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 5:00 to 6:45 PM, prior to the service and anytime at the home of Mary Ann and Philip Hedrick, 2705 Bethlehem Road, Raleigh, NC 27610.

An inurnment will take place at a later date at the Zion Episcopal Church Columbarium in Wappinger Falls, New York.

Surviving: son, David Andrew Hall of Tennessee; daughters: Margaret Ellen "Meg" Hall of Doylestown, PA and Mary Ann Hall Hedrick (Philip) of Raleigh; grandchildren, Ashleigh Lynnelle Colwell Tucci (Michael), Whitney Renee Colwell, and Megann Elizabeth Colwell (Kyle Spore); and a daughter-in-law, Linda Stanley.

In addition to her parents, Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband, and sisters, Mildred Barnett, Gloria Lynch, and Ruth Cappucio.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Canine Companions.
