Shirley Arnett, 79, formerly of Vergennes, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Marshall-Browning Hospital in DuQuoin.
Shirley was born on June 29, 1935, in Jackson County, Illinois.
She was a seamstress and a homemaker.
Mrs. Arnett had attended the Elkville Baptist Church in Elkville.
Shirley married Donald "Don" Arnett on October 1, 1953, in Pinckneyville and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2007.
She is survived by two children and their spouses Deb and Jeff Endres of Vandalia and Danny and Cheryl Arnett of Vergennes;
four grandchildren Erin Endres of St. Louis, MO, Adam Arnett of Murphysboro, Megan Moulton and her husband Josh Moulton of High Ridge, MO, and Nicole Clark and her husband Drew of Vacaville, CA;
one great granddaughter Amelia Grace Moulton of High Ridge, MO;
one sister Lawanda Williams, one brother Roger Quigley, and one sister in law Marie Quigley, all of Murphysboro.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter Kimberly Arnett, two brothers Paul and Bill Quigley, one sister Fern June Hobbs, and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 5, 2015, at Pettett Funeral Home with Rev. Louis Frick officiating and burial at Parrish Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the donor's choice.
