Norma Lee Swink of Farmington passed away June 21, 2015 at Maplebrook Assisted Living at the age of 92. She was born September 10, 1922 in Flat River to the late James Ralph and Addie Mae (Smith) Watson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, John Edward Swink in 2013; five sisters; one brother; a grandson and a granddaughter.

Norma was a life long resident of St. Francois County. She and her husband managed a dairy farm at Libertyville for many years while raising four children. She was a faithful and active member of the Libertyville United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. An avid reader, Norma also enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. She was an excellent cook who liked preparing meals for her family. One of her favorite pastimes was fishing. She adored her grandchildren and supported them in all of their sports and music activities.

Survivors include her beloved children, Lee Ann Thornton of Santa Fe, TX; Steve (Carolyn) Swink of Libertyville, Judy (Larry) Whitener of Farmington and David (Traci) Swink of Spokane, WA; twelve grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and good friends from Maplebrook Assisted Living. The family would like to express their gratitude to Safe Harbor Hospice for their dedicated care for Norma during her illness.

Friends may call at Cozean Memorial Chapel on Thursday, June 25 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitation will resume on Friday morning at 7 a.m. until the time of the service beginning at 10 a.m. with Reverend Rocky Good officiating. Interment will follow at Libertyville United Methodist Cemetery. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Safe Harbor Hospice.
