Philadelphian Was Officer of U. S. S. Constitution on Famous Trip

Thomas Fraser Dixon, prominent in business and social circles in this city for many years, died yesterday at his residence "The Poplars," Seminole avenue, Chestnut Hill. He was seventy-one years old.

Mr. Dixon was born in Philadelphia June 7, 1852, and was graduated from the U. S. Naval Academy in 1870. As an officer he was aboard the U. S. S. Constitution when that ship made its famous trip around the world. For nearly two score years Mr. Dixon held an executive position with the Wanamaker Store, retiring five years ago.

He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. John L. Fagan, Mrs. Edward Norris, Mrs. D. R. Wainwright, Mrs. Henry C. Lewis and Miss Margaret Dixon, and two sons, Charles Biddle Dixon and T. Fraser Dixon, Jr., all of this city.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at All Saints' Church, Torresdale.
