Passed away Monday, November 4, 2002 at his home after a brief illness with his family at his side, Age 72 years. He was born May 7, 1930 in Merrill, the son of the late Grace (Petre) and Gerald Trahan. He had been employed by Saginaw Chevrolet Manufacturing for 39 years, retiring in August of 1987. He was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Chapter #4232. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Mr. Trahan was a musician, playing in area bands with Leo Buggia and for Arliss Woodward. He married Connie Adams on October 28, 1950; she survives him. Mr. and Mrs. Trahan enjoyed their winters in Brownsville, Texas. Surviving besides his wife are three sons and daughters-in-law; Michael and Mary Trahan, Grand Blanc; Robert and Sue Trahan, Freeland; James and Suzanne Trahan, Allen Park; seven grandchildren, Melissa, Molly, Jaclyn, Robert, Ryan, Tyler and Jennifer; one brother, David Trahan, Battle Creek; several nieces and nephews; his mother-in-law, Miriam Grasley, His brother, Gerald Trahan, predeceased him.
Funeral Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2002 at St. Christopher Catholic Church. Rev. Fred Kawka will officiate with entombment in Mt. Olive Mausoleum. Friends may call at the W. L. Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Highway from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and then from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, where a vigil service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Friends and family may then call at the church from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of Mass. In lieu o flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Christopher Catholic Church or VNA/Hospice Partners in Caring.
