CSA - Lt.Col of the Orphan Brigade. First Lt. Comp D, 6th KY, Reg Adj., Major elect May 10,1862. Distinguished himself in engagement's at Shiloh, Baton Rouge, at Dalton he was a hero with his men. Injured many times,and leaving his sick bed to be with his men on the field. It was only a minnie-ball shattering his arm that kept him from seeing the end of the war.
He was married to Sallie Helm daughter of Major Thomas Helm of Glasgow, Tennessee.
