**Consumption was a old and once common term for wasting away of the body particularly from Tuberculosis**

Union Baptist Church was organized in 1848.After it burned in 1879 the church moved down the road to Central and is now called Central Baptist Church on HWY 9.
The Old Union Cemetery property is now owned by Mr.J.Wingard and is in a wooded area and overgrown.
This area was Coosa County until 1867 when it was changed to Elmore County. Census of the cemetery was taken August 1988 by Linda Blankenship and given to the Wetumpka Public Library to be placed in a book,Cemeteries of Elmore County Volume II pages 292,293,294.

His stone reads:A man of many virtues and few faults.
died at age 45&4 days
He was a Mason.Emblem on his stone.
