NORTON, Kan. -- Helen Henderson, 90, died Friday (July 6, 2006) at Norton County Hospital in Norton, Kan.
She was born June 3, 1916, at Norton, to John and Apolonia (Nemechek) Kent and was raised in the Norton area. She graduated from Norton Community High School in 1934.
On Jan. 21, 1936, she married Wallace Henderson in Norton. He preceded her in death in 1965.
She retired from Browne's Clothing.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wallace; brother, Francis Hayward Kent; and a sister, Anna Ruth Dopps.
Survivors include two sons, John A. and wife, Betty Henderson of Topeka, Kan., and Richard E. and wife, Wuanita of Hays, Kan; a daughter, Geraldine and husband, Earl Dunning of Arlington, Texas; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be Tuesday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Francis Catholic Church in Norton with the Rev. Vincent Thu Laing officiating. Burial will be at the Norton Cemetery.
A vigil service is set for Monday, 7 p.m., at the Parish Hall in Norton.
Visitation is Monday, 8 a,m,-4 p.m., at Pauls Funeral Home in Oberlin and from 5-8 p.m., at the Parish Hall.
Memorials may be directed to the Helen Henderson Memorial Fund.
