Hays -- Rebecca A. "Becky" Hammerschmidt, 47, Hays, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at Hays Medical Center. Miss Hammerschmidt was born May 12, 1953, at Hays.

She was a baker at U-Save Foods and a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.

Survivors include her parents, Adolph and Alfreda Hammerschmidt of Hays; a brother, Steve of Carrollton, Texas; and two sisters, Lisa Staab and Tammy Gottschalk, both of Holcomb.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Rev. David Met officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. A Daughters of Isabel rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. and a parish vigil will be at, 7 p.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine, Hays 67601.

Memorials may be made to the building fund at the church, 19th and Milner, Hays 67601. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. today and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
